A symbol is a visual indicator used for a specific feature. Each Symbol belongs to one type of feature.
To open the Symbols dashboard select the Symbols button:

After selection of the Symbols_button the Symbols_ dashboard is displayed:

Symbols page layout
Use the vertical scroll bar to browse available symbols.
At the bottom of the page, navigate between pages using the horizontal arrows (← →). Adjust the number of symbols displayed per page with the dropdown menu:

The top navigation bar displays these categories and sorting options:

The Is Standard category is used to include standard items that are provided by the system. E.g. for each kind of chart the system provides at least one standard Chart Type.
In upper right of the page is the Search option:

The Search option will be selected to search for a specific symbol.
Search using the term 'Airport Civ' to display all civil airports. Example:

For each element type an unlimited set of symbols can be created for different purposes, such as the type of chart or the specific role of the element in the chart (e.g. an VORDME being used as a Final Approach Fix).
The symbol file to be uploaded must be a Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file.
In order to create a new symbol the _Create Symbol button_will be selected:

__Once selected__the _Upload symbol_page__will be displayed:

Adding a new symbol:
Drag your SVG file into the box, or
Click 'Browse' to find it.
Then:
✓ Click Continue to upload;
✗ Click the trash icon to cancel.

When Continue is selected the Create Symbol page is displayed:

When creating a new symbol, you can configure these categories:
Name
When creating a new symbol name you should be careful to create a name that describes the symbol sufficiently to other users.

Feature Type
Select the appropriate feature type from the dropdown list.
In this example, 'Airports/Heliports' was chosen for the new airport symbol:

Orientation
The Orientation drop down list contains the following options for placement of the new symbol:

Relative To Design Plane;

This is used for symbols that have a bearing defined such as localizers.

Scale
The Scale option displays the current scale of the new symbol.
The scale can be modified by entering a value directly or by using the up/down arrow controls:

Change Size
To display the width and height of the new symbol select the Change Size button:

Once selected, the width and height fields are displayed. These values can be entered manually or adjusted using the up/down arrow controls:

Change Scale
In order to display the scale select the Change Scale button:

Offset X and Offset Y
The _Offset X and Offset Y_options__display the X and Y origin of the new symbol.

Change the origin of symbol
In order to change the origin of the symbol the target symbol should be dragged and dropped to the new location.
Select the cross in the upper left of the image and drag it to the centre of the circle:

Use the Zoom in tool to place the origin more accurately as required.

Zoom in, Zoom out and Reset options
Use the Zoom In and Zoom Out options to adjust the view, and select Reset to return to the original coverage:

Alignment options
The alignment options are:
Align offset horizontally

Update or Cancel
Once the symbol definition has been changed it can either be canceled or updated:

When selecting Cancel a warning will appear asking for confirmation:

Symbols dashboard ellipsis options
When selecting the ellipsis (
) the following options are displayed:

View details
After selection of the View Details button the Symbol details are displayed:

Edit
After selection of the Edit button the Edit Symbol page is displayed:

In order to update a symbol input the required changes and select either Update or Cancel to cancel.
Remove
After selection of the Remove a confirmation__warning is displayed:

In order to remove a scale select Yes or No to cancel.
